This project, with its more poetic rather than functional vision,
with an ironic message, creates magic that the object reveals to us in everyday reality.

As part of Milan Design Week 2023, Luca Preti Gallery situated in via San Marco 24 in Brera District, presents the limited edition of the "Big/Bora" floor lamp projected by Italian designer Denis Santachiara.

The project was initiated when gallery owner Luca Preti has proposed to Denis Santachiara the idea of a light installation that could generate a playful connection between the decorative object and daily life.

Santachiara, historic protagonist of Italian design well known for his unusual creative style, who’s projects have always been halfway between art and design. Taking as inspiration the "Maestrale" table lamp created in 1987, designer projected it's enlarged reinterpretation - the floor lamp entitled "BIG / BORA”.

This limited edition consisting only of 19 pieces takes "Maestrale" to the next level. The cone basement with 24 facets is about 2.30 meters high (7,5 feet) and is made of mirrored aluminum. A very particular structure turns "BIG / BORA” into luminous sculptural installation, the climactic object of its' environment.

The combination of the LED lighting and a constant stream of air coming out from the base brings to life the white flag on apex of the lamp and creates a playful vivid movement with poetic and surprising touch.

As far as the color may be changed by a remote control, it gives an opportunity to modulate the shades of the flag according to one's pleasure and mood.
